Essex and Chile maps

These are two maps created for “Mad for Glory: A Heart of Darkness in the War of 1812” set to be released December 2015, published by Tilbury House. The maps are based on the exploits of two men, Captain David Porter, who took a U.S. frigate (the Essex) around Cape Horn and into the Pacific without authorization and causing all manner of mayhem. And J. Roberts Poinsett, who was the U.S. Consul to Spanish South America, operating on his own to counter British influence in revolutionary Argentina and Chile.
